ZX81 computer with AY-interface & ZXpand Module

Sorry for too long preface/introduction ;) but it was my very _first_ contact with ZXpand module for ZX81 computer (32Kb or RAM, SD-card instant loading plus additional AY-interface in standard of classic ZX81’s ZonX AY-interface from 80s).
It is really ZX81 playing music via AY chip (well, actually its Japanese version: YM). You can get both modules from RWAP Software: http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk/zx812.html

ATARI SOUNDS FOR THE MASSES – GUI Frontend for ASAPConv Appears

Atari Sounds For The Masses is a GUI Frontend for great ASAPConv by Piotr Fusik. Basicly is a tool to convert Atari music modules between different formats. ASAPConv is a “command line” application, so I decided to add a GUI in Objective-C to make conversion procedure much more simpler. ASFTM is dedicated to all Mac OS X users who love to listen great tunes from the legendary 8bit computer called ATARI. Those people who didn`t know what I`m talking about, should download music stuff for “little” Atari, and take a deep dive into the analog, raw and melodic ocean of Atari sounds.

nanoloop USB-MIDI-adaptor

This adaptor connects a Game Boy link cable with a PC’s USB port. It appears as a MIDI port on the PC and offers the following functionality:

– Load updates for nanoloop 2.x and nanoloop one.
– Load additional 32k ROMs, such as mGB, on nanoloop one.
– Backup / restore songs from / to nanoloop 2.5 and nanoloop 1.6.
– Sync any nanoloop version to MIDI-enabled programs on the PC.
– Play the Game Boy via MIDI from the PC using mGB.
– MIDI signals from the Game Boy are forwarded to the PC.

Chipsune 1.23 for the GBA Appeared

Chipsune is a GameBoy (color) Music sequencer for the GBA. Why you may ask? Because GBA was limited to what it could do for GameBoy music sequencers. You would have to use an old cartridge, and those don’t work on GBA Micro, and NDS/NDS Lite. Now, you can use this on those handhelds, and If you Line-In record, there is a lot less static (compared to older versions of the GBA and even GB/GBC).

Tilificator for the NES appeared

Tilificator is a sprite conversion tool I wrote to try to solve an annoying problem I’ve always had with sprite graphics for the NES: How to create CHR and sprite data that re-uses CHR patterns and tries to minimize the sprites per scanline, without lots of repetitive effort.

To do this for you, it uses some clever heuristics, and a lot of brute-force, trading artist time for computer time. It’s a work in progress, and will still produce bad results for some seemingly obvious cases. But it’ll probably do the job better for big amounts of sprite data unless you’re dedicated to hand-optimizing your sprites. :)
