pro.tect is a lovingly prepared collection of Syphus’ work from 2007 to 2011 – almost entirely unheard, outside of his live shows. Though the tracks have been mastered for more ear-friendly and mp3-friendly listening, they were all made using AHX (Amiga), HivelyTracker (Amiga), Protracker (Amiga) and FastTracker2/MilkyTracker (PC).
Listen for free here on Bandcamp; if you decide to buy and download the album, as well as high quality mp3/FLAC/etc files and the full-size cover artwork, you also get 3 bonus tracks!

The debutante release from everyone’s favorite chip funk dudes who do it live with they hands. All programming and sequencing happened in the brain and stayed there.
You’ll definitely hear some “human glitches” on this release. Yeah, they could have gotten fixed, but that kinda defeats the purpose of all this doesn’t it? Please enjoy the slop being served up here… them shrimps sure had a good time putting it together.
SAY IT AND PLAY IT… S H R I M P S !!!!!

By Peter Swimm, on May 12th, 2011 This free EP is a collection of all the various forms that Baseck’s track, Muck, has gone through since it’s initial creation. It includes the original track from the album Creatures out on Subconscious Communications, a remix by Red Shift, a remix by Strangeloop and an alternate version of the Strangeloop edit featuring scratching/turntablism by Baseck, bringing it all full circle.
Baseck’s original song is a grimey lofi punk banger made with only the bootleg gameboy sequencer LSDJ and a small noise toy. Red Shift takes the central melody and embellishes it with ethereal synths and a sharp clicky hip hop beat transforming it into a whimsical yet robust dancey jam he renames Strawberry. Brainfeeder artist, Strangeloop, propels this seemingly endless melodic riff even further adding glitchy other worldly samples and spacious thrashy beats that undulate creating an entrancing cosmic noise.

In addition to all the change ups this track has seen… it has now taken on a new life as the dreamy music set to an amazing kaleidoscopic video by Fragonard Berscht. Appropriately it is the Strangeloop edit that has transcended into this new form.

Dear friend,
I am here to let you know about my latest release, which features two songs you can already get on the internet (just not these superior versions). In this statement, I will tell you each and every reason why you should get your hands on a copy of my latest release, the Rite Now 5″ vinyl single.
Following my two CD/free download EPs of early 2010, the birth of my own vinyl record label (Sounds Legit w/ Celsius) and a fantastic lathed vinyl release from my Sydney brother, godinpants, I was inspired to try something different for my next release. Vinyl.
I wasn’t prepared to settle for any ordinary vinyl release. I wanted to do something special. What I came up with was a super limited clear 5″ vinyl single (limited to 50 units). To top this off, I’ve got eight (or ate, get it?), hand crafted pizza-picture-discs. Each pizza-picture-disc is a one-off, hand drawn artwork by Erin Marshall-Turner (who provided the artwork for Another), set in clear vinyl. C’mon! That alone is worth buying!
If artwork set in vinyl, or a clear vinyl disc is not enough for you, there are also songs on this bad boy! Side A features Rite Now, recorded in Adelaide with Jess Porter and mastered by chipmusic king, cTrix in Melbourne. While Side B features a live recording (captured by Eggo) of the first ever 10k track I yelled over; Bitchwhipped, again mastered by cTrix. Then, each of these records was hand crafted in Brooklyn, NY, with a 1930s lathe just in time for blip fest. Mad props to Adamgetsawesome for picking them up for me and taking photos.
Want one yet? If you’re coming to Blip, you’ll have your chance.
Thanks,
10k
via that guy who screams over a Game Boy backing track.
