Finally USB connection to CBM devices, hassle free!

From today you now can purchase the XU1541 adapter from our site shop.  The XU1541 was originally developed by Till Harbaum and the project was abandoned. But its now still well alive, thanks to our resident engineer Jurek.

This adapter is the modern version of the parallel port X1541 cable but now with USB capabilities. Allowing modern PC’s & laptops to use the Commodore range of disk drives such as the 1541 etc..

Now we’re talking! I’mgonna get one of these ASAP.

  • DATASTORM 2010, a new and exciting demoparty

    Demoparty for oldschool platforms. ONLY.

Hey guys, long time no see. Been hella busy.

Anyway, I bring good news for those people in Scandinavia and those who want to travel over there next February (me!). Those crazy swedes at Up Rough and a bunch of other C64 people have joined to make a new demoparty called DATASTORM, intended to fill the void that LCP leaves after it finishes, and also exclusively dedicated to “machines with SOUL”.

The plan looks awesome and I am already making preparations to try to make it over there. The organizing squad is of top quality and the location looks promising, and of course you will find there a lot of the key figures of th oldschool demoscene.

The plans, pics of the venue, compo rules and more can be found at the party’s official website.

  • More on ICU64, the C64 super hack tool

After the gobsmacking video we posted yesterday, an exchange pinging back and forth between fellow bloggers Digital Tools has yielded more information regarding this amazing tool, from the author himself.

Watch this new video, and after the jump, read the words from the author himself, posted in the Lemon64 forums. Seems like there’s a lot of potential, among which I really like the possibility of a synchronized parallel array of C64s.

  • Crazy C64 manipulation

Thanks to Goto80 for this one.

This tool, basically aimed at hackers, will entertain even completely programming-illiterate people. It basically is a Memory monitor with knobs on.

Many of these features have been long available through a freezing cart, but they never have been represented graphically, and, here’s the catch: you don’t need to freeze the computer, you can affect the memory map, realtime, in a variety of ways.

I’ll let the video speak for itself. It’s long, but well damn worth it.
