This is basically the Super GameBoy, without the Super part. The guts of an original GB are transplanted into a NES cart. My incredibly amazing custom board then translates the GB graphics into NES format, and the NES controller to GB format. The original link port is accessible, so you can connect another GB or RetroVision or plug in the printer.The colors and border can be changed using the 2nd controller. Audio either comes from the headphone jack or through the NES if you have done the resistor mod inside your console.Inside the cart is PACKED. The GB cart does stick up above the surface, so a front loader will need the metal bar removed like with the Game Action Replay.
There’s lots of cool stuff like triple buffering to prevent screen tearing, and dual porting SRAM so the GB can write while the NES reads, but most people don’t care about tech detailsMore proto picts can be seen at http://www.retrousb.com/images/retrovisionTo get some complaints out of the way:– It’s the same as Super GameBoy: pretty much! So my first question is does this force the audio to mono through the nes port?Also the link port is in a bad place for us classic NES owners. One to keep an eye on though!

this is aboslutely an hot item this is what i call pure retro classic,who,s not dreaming about playing gameboy games on a nes.
yes you got to do some mods,like removing the matel bar and do the sound resistor mod to make it work properly well,and you,re ready to play.
sure they could,ve try to use an adc chip to stream the gameboy sound trough the nes pcm, but i guess that the nes will be way too buzy with handling frame buffering conversion, so it will couse desynch and/or slow down or even interrupting the controller,also they cut,ve try to closely emulate the gb fm sound by using the nes fm sound in a hope to save power,but even that would,nt help,cuzz emulating it will again couse slow down and/or desynch or again interupting the controller.
sadly the nes has just simply not enough power to do those things atonce,that,s the reason why they chosed to simply analogue streaming the gb sound trough the nes ext soundpins to avoid such issues.
even then i am still amezed how they,ve accomplished such incredible thing,and it has great features like colorizing and changing background borders.
this is an absolute must have for die hard nes collectors,
all we got to do is send bunnyboy our destroyed or dumped gameboy and he will recycle those parts inside,eheyeheyhey!!!!
