Alex Mauer returns with his third NES album. Having had a few days to sit down with the ROM and play it, that the concept of a album on a cart has come to full fruition. The tech on the cart allows you to drop your virtual needle on any track, and listen as it seamlessly plays through the album. One could imagine Mauer doing a cart tour, just by mailing his cart to various chip events around the world. The music and artwork are sparse yet intricately woven, delicate as a spiders-web. Our friends over at II have posted a copy of the rom, tracks, NSFs, and its worth every bit of your bandwidth.

TCTD launches its new podcast!
Every other Friday a new episode will be released, with a different theme each time. We will dive into some of your favorite artists – and artists you’ve never heard of. We will explore the different styles of chipmusic, it’s various platforms, labels, groups and try to cover all aspects of this wonderful scene. There will be mostly music, but expect some interviews and talking as well.
The podcast is in first hand run by me, Random, but you can look forward to hearing special guests appear in future episodes, with valuable help, insight and discussion.

New, excessively long titled, Nestroyer EP
Ran across this and gave it a listen, nice phasey NES tracks with a rock flavor, but more NEU! than the excessive 7/8 NES prog style you might be familiar with. I don’t like covering non self hosted releases, but its worth a look.

Godard RIP
Sad news from the Bali Chip Scene.

If you’re an 8bc user, you might have heard my remix of this song.
If you’re an 8bc user, you might have heard his song on the DMG D&B compilation of this song.
Behind that music, there is a guy called Fajar, you can also call him Mas Jar-wo, or Godard, and he left us today.
Godard hosted me in Bali with JW86 and Local Drug Store during our tour, and I can’t stop crying when I remember all the good moments we had together.
It hurts a lot to see how life sucks so much.
Even if you’re not here anymore, you’ll stay forever in our minds with your music.
I think he deserves it, so I’m asking to the people that are interested by giving him a last goodbye, to contact me if you wanna participate to a compilation dedicated to Godard.
