In the Desert that is the chipmusic scene, Sparkyboy makes a triumphant return with his African Oasis! Quench your thirst with the refreshing self-titled track, or lie in the cool shade of other bangers such as the mighty Danger Danger! Even better, not a Wonderwall cover in sight! (Not that Oasis, silly…)

Da Pantz – “Uptown, Baby!”
Now if it wasn’t for the Bronx/ This rap shit probably never would be goin’ on/ So tell me where you from?/ Uptown Baby, Uptown Baby/ We gets down baby/ Up for the crown baby – Lord Taiq & Peter Gunz, “Deja Vú (Uptown Baby)”
On April 4th, 2009, I wrote the first song on this record; a post-it note featuring a crudely drawn arpeggiator became “Here Come the Pretzels!”, a reference to watching The Simpsons with my family that inspired me to explore the autobiographical nature of home.
A tribute to project housing and salsa music became “Elevators”. I synthesized the increasing acceleration of my cousin’s Chevy Tahoe into the EP’s title track. Most telling, however, is the album’s central effort, a celebration of friendship named after one of many physical connections to my peers throughout Brooklyn: “Triborough Bridge”. Indeed, while at first glance this seems to be yet another salute to the Bronx, a closer look reveals what’s really being said underneath the raucous shouts of “BX ALL DAY”: that it’s time to fucking party with my friends. Let’s GO!

Z80 Music Portal – massive update
Hi there.
Finally I found some time (and life forces) to make a massive update of http://z80.i-demo.pl/ music portal.
Mostly songs by Shiru (13 of them, including 3 re-recorded from real hardware).
Also added – tunes signed by Lamaze P/Hikaru, ne7 and Mister Beep.Probably I should add more but I am now too exhausted after several hours of recording, testing, www editing and uploading.
I hope You enjoy the music. Maybe within forthcoming days I will record and upload something more.
Greetz,

New Spectrum48 1-bit engines
Hi. Last times Shiru released several incredible new sound-engines for ZX Spectrum 48K and its beeper, with various number of channels, various synthesis possibilities, and so on.
I decided to test each and every of them and – here are my results.
OCTODE engine provides 9 channels of sound (8 tones + drums).
Test result:QCHAN engine allows to use 5 channels (4 tones + drums) with various envelopes of instruments and numerous level of volumes.
Test resultTRITONE engine gives 4 channels (3 tones + drums). Also it gives various modulations and volumes plus pretty rich set of drums.
Test result:LyndonSharp engine is well-known 1-bit sound engine from 80s. Shiru reverse-engineered it so now it’s usable again. The engine has 3 channels, expressive sound and many cool drums.
tests’ result:All the engines can be found on WOS forum:
