  • NITE-006 – Monsters – Cowards Way Out EP

I was really excited when Monsters said he wanted to put another EP out with Nite Owl. If you’ve heard his earlier release, you know why. But he told me something interesting about this one, and it’s pretty unique for a chip release (or anything with chip-style elements) : “It’s a concept EP revolving primarily around suicide, so naturally, there’s very little on it that is either happy or uplifting. It’s got some ambient stuff, some kinda dubstep stuff, some kinda break-y stuff, and some other stuff.”

    1. The Art Of Drowning
    2. Sky Lights
    3. Every Regret In The World
    4. The Darker Side
    5. Cowards Way Out
    6. Step Down

  • “Para ‘N’ droiD”

This is billed as the first real demoscene release on the Android platform and it’s interactive. Search for “Para ‘n’ Droid” on the Android Market or check out Pouet. Seems to bog down somewhat on my non-updated HTC Hero. Music is killer.

  • Pulselooper – A Síndrome do Víde

Pulselooper’s 4th EP. Five songs written and performed using a DMG Game Boy and a Commodore-64 home computer (both played live and recorded/mixed on ableton live – with the help of arduinoboy/mGB and a MSSIAH cartridge). Music and theme inspired on the motion picture “Videodrome” by David Cronenberg (which, in Brazil, had its title adapted as “The Video Syndrome” (”A Síndrome do Video”).

After talking briefly with Computadora and mainly because I wanted, I made a mixtape to promote around Bleepstreet Records. Computadora also says I am the A&R of the label now :P

I made this mixtape showcasing some music from artists of its roster, current and future, and others who are not, based on what to me should be the sound of a Bleepstreet dancefloor!! This is not totally about chip, this is about ass-kicking data beats to shake your butt around, even if you are a cheaptoon nerd or a piping hot gurrl.

  • Feryl – Winners Don’t Use Drugs

Take a unique chiptune ride filled with blips and bleeps created entirely using the emulated sound chip of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The album is comprised of ten tracks, which range in style from noisy beats to whimsical and pleasant melodies.
